The Jewish Journey Project is open to all children in 3rd-7th grade!
Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Jewish Journey Project. We hope you have had the chance to browse our website for information about our program. The typical entry grades for new students are the 3rd-5th grades but we are happy to talk to you about enrolling a 6th grade student as well.
If you are a member of a partner synagogue, please contact your synagogue’s office or Education Director to begin the registration process.
If you are a JJP@JCC member or community member, please contact the JJP office if interested in joining JJP through JCC Manhattan.
How to Participate
Registration for 2016-2017 classes begins at 9am on June 14, 2016.
To register your child(ren) for JJP:
1. Adviser Time
All students must meet with a JJP adviser, or an adviser from your congregation before they can register for courses. During this meeting, we will get to know you, your child, and family better and be able to guide him/her toward classes for the semester. We have advising meetings twice annually before each semester.
JJP is an initiative of JCC Manhattan and six partner synagogues. To schedule an advising time with a JJP adviser at JCC Manhattan, please contact Meg Sullivan at email@example.com. To schedule an advising time with one of the educational directors at one of our partner congregations, please see below for their contact information.
After meeting with an adviser you can register for classes online through the JJP website beginning on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. A username and password to register will be sent to once you have met with an adviser and have given your deposit for the 2016-2017 year.
3. Select Your Courses
When you are ready to register: Click on the “Courses” menu, where you will see all the courses offered this term. Find the courses your child would like to request a space in and click the green button. If you are registering more than one child, repeat this process for each child using their individual username.
You may begin requesting courses for your child(ren) on or after 9am on the day of registration. Please note that all registrations will be accepted by the system within the first 48 hours of registration. If any course is over-enrolled within the first 24 hours, we will hold a lottery the morning of Wednesday, June 15 at 9:00 AM. Plan to log back into the website on the evening of Thursday, June 16th to check your child’s enrollment status.
4. Confirm or Change Your Courses
On the evening of June 16th, log back into the website. Click “My Courses” under the “Courses” tab. You will see your child’s schedule for the semester. You may alter your child’s schedule at any point. Follow the instructions above to add a class to your child’s schedule. To withdraw your child from a class, you may do so by going to “My Courses” page under “Courses” heading.
If you choose JJP through the JCC, tuition for 2016-2017 is:
$2,450 for JCC members
$2,750 for public
Each partner synagogue sets its own tuition. If you join JJP through one of our partner synagogues, you will pay the tuition directly to them. Please contact the respective educational director below for more details.
Limited financial aid is available; please contact your synagogue or the JJP office for details.
Courses may not be paid for ala carte; there is a one fee to take as many classes with JJP as you like over the year which includes MeetUp (or MAKOM@SAJ) at each of our partner organizations.
